What the story is about
Guilan, a young member of the Galactic Induction Committee, discovers that Earth is home to humans—and to many other sapient species facing an environmental crisis. Though the galaxy has avoided contact with humans because it considers them dangerously unpredictable, the discovery of Earth’s other intelligent life forces the committee to reconsider.
