What the story is about

After humanity is defeated and enslaved by an alien coalition, a surviving human warship called the Defiance continues to fight while treating captured enemy crew according to its own rules of war. Agent Tra, raised to distrust humans, begins questioning what she was taught as she witnesses their restraint and becomes caught up in the conflict surrounding the Defiance.
